The reality is that most Christians have yet to begin learning the truth of God's perfection in situations that look bad. Jesus lived a perfect, sinless life. Most people, including Christians would expect Jesus to go straight to heaven without even passing through death. Or at least have a totally painless death surrounded by all those who loved Him most. Yet, God had the perfect plan to pay for the sins of all people through the laying down of the one perfect life of Jesus Christ.
By the way, God, the Father and Jesus Christ, the Son created this plan of salvation for all mankind before Adam was created. Even Jesus Christ, as He faced taking on the sins of all mankind and death, had to pray to enter into agreement with the will of God the Father, just as we have to pray to gain oneness with the will of God.
Jesus prayed, "Abba, Father, everything is possible for you. Please take this cup of suffering away from me. Yet I want your will to be done, not mine." (Mark 14:36). Even Jesus had to bring His will into oneness with the will of God, the Father. Most Christians seem to believe that Jesus was most saddened by the torture and death that He knew He must endure to pay for the sins of all mankind. It's easy to see why that would make anyone sad. Yet I believe it was more likely that Jesus was most saddened by the fact that He would have the sins of all mankind placed on Him in a way that we will never understand in this life.
Jesus endured extreme torture and then death on the cross with the perfect peace of God, the Father in His heart...
Only in the presence of God we can learn the lesson that God is in control of all things. No one could have seen or can see the perfection of the suffering and death of Jesus outside the presence of the Almighty God. People who have not accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord can only begin to understand this after they accept Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.
God is perfect and God is good no matter what situations enter the lives of His children. The Bible says, God's grace is sufficient... (II Corinthians 12:9) Grace is the power of God to do His will in any situation. Grace given as a free gift.
